Paul Tangerman obit

 Paul J. Tangerman of Katonah died on June 13. He was 76.

He was born May 13, 1946 in the Bronx to Howard and Katherine (McCauley) Tangerman. He attended St. Raymond High School for Boys and served in the U. S. Army in Vietnam, where he was a dog handler. After his military service, he joined the  Fire Department of the City of New York and was a firefighter in the South Bronx. 

He loved water sports, including fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling, swimming and boating, and travel, especially European river cruises, his family said. He also enjoyed growing tomatoes, bird watching and nature, and was an avid New York Yankees fan.  

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Maureen (Hoynes); two daughters, Christine Keating and Lauren Tangerman; a brother, Peter Tangerman of Yorktown; a sister, Joan Sirgant of Sarasota, Florida; two grandchildren and other family members. 

The Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated today, Friday, June 17, at St. Mary’s RC Church, Katonah. Interment was private.
