Paul Ciavardini died Saturday, April 15. He was 95.
He was born to Luigi and Grace Caivardini in Alatri, Italy, on Jan. 25,1928, and came to America with his family as a young boy. He grew up in Bedford Hills. He graduated from Bedford Hills High School and joined the local 456 Teamsters Union. He had a 40-year career with the union.
He married Dina Angi in 1950. They lived briefly in Bedford Hills and then moved to Mount Kisco, where they raised their family.
He enjoyed harness horse racing, working around the house, working in his garden and watching baseball. He was known for his sense of humor.
He was predeceased by his wife in 2020 and his daughter, Paula Ackerly, in 2021.
He was also predeceased by his brothers Julius, Americo and Vito, and his sister, Mary.
He is survived by his two sons, Richard (Donna) and Robert (Diane); his son-in-law, Raymond Ackerly; and six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary’s of the Assumption Church, located at 55 Valley Road, Katonah, on Thursday, June 1, at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Francis Cemetery, located at 236 Lexington Ave., Mount Kisco.
