Helen Ann Green, a former resident of Goldens Bridge, died on Dec. 4 in Edmond, Oklahoma. She was 92. 

She was born Oct. 8, 1928, in New York City to Charles and Helen Young. She spent her early childhood in the Bronx and later moved to Belford, New Jersey. Her family and close friends called her “Ann.”

She graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson University where she met Robert E. Green Sr., of Katonah. They were married in 1949.

The couple raised their family in Goldens Bridge and later retired to Daytona Beach, Florida.  

Throughout her life, she was an active member of the Methodist Church and Ladies Auxiliary. She loved to travel, sketch, sew, read, dance, play the piano, practice Spanish and bake apple pies, family members said. She was a master at Bridge and other games.

She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Robert Jr., and son-in-law, Gregg McNelis.

Survivors include a son, Richard (Donna) of Edmond, Oklahoma; two daughters, Susanne McNelis of Ridgefield, Connecticut, and Cynthia Ganung (Steven), also of Ridgefield; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

A private burial will be held for immediate family at Ivandell Cemetery in Somers. A celebration of life is planned for 2021.
