On Saturday March 6, Boy Scouts of America scout packs and troops from across Westchester, including Pound Ridge Troop 1, converged on the Durland Scout Reservation to participate in the annual Klondike Derby. The theme this year was Hawaiian Klondike and required that patrols build and stock a prospector frame as used in the gold rush. Patrols journeyed through woods and fields to Hawaiian towns where they participated in activities such as orienteering, extreme rescue, coconut cracking, and limbo.
